Matte Painting preview for As Boas Maneiras - The Good Manners - Brazil/France 2017 - Tilt Down shot

Some of more than 30 matte painting shots that I did for The Good Manners feature film. The directors asked me for a more classic Glass Matte Painting Era style to match the overall aesthetic of this Brazilian French fantasy-horror-social drama. More painterly, less photo-real. That was my direction, and as I was always very inspired by the classic matte painters, like Harrison Ellenshaw and Albert Whitlock, this project was really special for me. I did a mix of 3D elements, some photo textures and a lot of brush work to keep the more illustrated quality to them.
